Rebecca Witte
Director of Connections
From the time Rebecca Witte was a little girl, her mother worried because she knew no stranger. She would greet a passer by in the same manner she would engage with a known friend in her midst. Early on, she recognized all people as beloved children of God to be respected and revered. A strong faith at an early age, fostered by a father who was a pastor and a mother who led active mission work, guided her to take seriously the commandment to love thy neighbor. Helping others to feel a sense of belonging seemed to call her into action. Throughout Rebecca's life, whether as a traveler, teacher, or businesswoman, she continued to reach out to draw the people she encountered into a closely knit, but ever-expanding circle which valued the importance of every individual. When she accepted the role of Saint John’s Director of Hospitality, she told a special friend that she was “becoming the person I was meant to be”– welcoming the guest and member alike into a community of care. She looks forward to every opportunity to connect people with each other, our church, and God who brings us together in Christian fellowship, faith exploration, growth, and service. Rebecca now serves as Director of Connections.
