How Do We Change The World?
UNITED METHODIST COMMITTEE ON RELIEF
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is the humanitarian relief and development agency of the United Methodist Church, a worldwide denomination. Compelled by Christ, UMCOR responds to natural or human-made disasters—those interruptions of such magnitude that they overwhelm a community's ability to recover on its own.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief seeks to ensure that all projects are performed with integrity by working with local partners in every area of service. Their partners range from international consortiums like ACT International and Church World Service to local organizations that serve primarily the community in which UMCOR is working.
Saint John's Methodist of Austin supports UMCOR through our gifts, including the One Great Hour of Sharing, and specific gifts to specific disaster relief projects. We also collect food and flood bucket supplies for delivery to areas in need. To learn more about this important work, go to the UMCOR site.
