Saint John's United Methodist Church

How Do We Change the World?

At Saint John’s we are creating a community where God’s love changes people and God’s people change the world. In an effort to help people take action toward changing the world we have a booklet of volunteer opportunities that includes classes for spiritual growth, opportunities to help with many activities at Saint John’s plus opportunities to help others outside the doors of this church. We make a difference in our community, our city, our state and around the world. Since we are an “open house” all are welcome to volunteer. You do not need to be a member of Saint John’s to participate. If you decide that you would like to volunteer after looking at the Ministry of All Booklet please contact Sallie Sassano.

Saint John's helps people every week of the year through monthly food drives, clothing collections for the homeless, staffing and support of Montopolis Friendship Community Center in east Austin, and financial assistance to numerous other Austin and world-wide missions.

In addition, we host homeless families,Habitat for Humanity project
participate in Habitat for Humanity and Austin's Hands on Housing, collect Christmas gifts for children of Texas prison inmates, provide Thanksgiving Dinner for dozens of Austin's neediest, and send mission teams of youth and adults to other states, cities and countries.

THE WELCOMING MINISTRY

Saint John's Methodist of Austin is a Welcoming Certified Church through the Igniting Ministries Program of the United Methodist Church. We are actively involved in attempting to make all who enter our doors feel welcomed. We gladly welcome your participation in this vital ministry. Contact Sallie Sassano for more information.
